  • Dr. Diana Curtis – Biography

    Diana Curtis maintains an active career as a freelance musician and strings teacher. Since moving to the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area in 2003, Dr. Curtis has performed with the Annapolis Symphony, the Maryland Symphony, the Harrisburg Symphony, the York Symphony, and is frequently a guest performer in recitals and concerts around the DC and Baltimore area. She is also a member of the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra and the Shippensburg Summer Festival Orchestra, and is the cellist with the Severn River Piano Trio.



    In addition to performing, Dr. Curtis has maintained an active private teaching studio since 1998. She has served as Lecturer in Music for Applied Cello lessons at Messiah College, and has taught string pedagogy courses at both The Catholic University of America and Messiah College. Additionally, Dr. Curtis is employed as an elementary school strings teacher for Anne Arundel County Schools in Maryland. Dr. Curtis earned her B. M. in cello performance and music education from West Virginia University, and her M. M. and D. M. A. in cello performance from The Catholic University of America.

  • Mrs. Krista Kriel – Biography

    Krista Kriel holds her B. S. in Music Education from Messiah College and her M. M. in Music Education from University of the Arts. Mrs. Kriel has been teaching since 1993, starting her career as an Elementary Band and General Music teacher in Waynesboro, PA. She has also taught middle and high school orchestra in Carlisle Area School District, and currently teaches middle and high school orchestra for Gettysburg Area School District. She conducted the District 7 String Fest in 2008 and the Dauphin County High School Orchestra Festival in 2010. Along with teaching in Gettysburg, Mrs. Kriel has taught Instrumental Methods at Sunderman Conservatory, and she is currently the director of Harrisburg Junior Youth String Orchestra.



    Along with conducting, Mrs. Kriel plays violin for the Carlisle String Quartet and the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra. She has also played for the Gettysburg Festival Orchestra, Theatre Harrisburg, the Cumberland Valley Symphonic Orchestra, the Gettysburg College Orchestra, the Hanover String Quartet, the Grosse String Quartet, and the Latimore String Quartet.
