PMEA District 7 Virtual Festival
​Saturday, February 20, 2021

This virtual event is being provided by PMEA District 7 in lieu of our usual in-person District Band, Chorus, and Orchestra Festivals for 2020-2021.  The Virtual District Festival sessions are open to ALL District 7 students, regardless of applied area.  No audition is required.  The festival was held on February 20 virtually with over 200 attendees throughout the day.  All sessions were recorded and can be viewed below.

 A lecture/demonstration on Benjamin Britten's WAR REQUIEM

​Experiences as a Broadway Musician - Instrumental
Will Curry, professional Broadway Violist and Conductor,  graduate of Hershey HS and Northwestern University, will host a session on his experiences as a broadway musician. His session will also include a performance on the Viola and time for students to ask questions.

Experiences as a Broadway Musician - Vocal
Katrina Flick, professional singer and actor, graduate of Cedar Crest HS and Penn State University with a degree in Musical Theater,  will host a session on her experiences as a singer/actor on many world tours on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, most notably as Sandy in Grease. Katrina will also perform for the audience with Michael Popovsky and will allow for questions from the students.

Alliance Brass
​A live session with the musicians of the Alliance Brass Quintet. Topics to include pedagogy for each instrument; trumpet, horn, trombone and Tuba. Quintet will perform for the audience and include time for students to ask questions.

Professional Performer & Composer Chad Smith
Chad Smith, professional Alto Sax player on Broadway, and for symphony orchestra’s and major motion pictures, will host a session on his experiences as a professional musician and composer. Chad will also perform for the audience and include an opportunity for the students to ask questions.
