Faith Brown is a graduate of Northeastern York High School and the recipient of the 2014 PMEA D7 Choral Scholarship. This vocalist participated in the PMEA D7 Choral Festival sophmore through senior years, PMEA Region V Chorus in her sophmore and senior years, and in the PMEA All-State Festival in her senior year in addition to having a solo in the All-State concert. During her tenure in high school, she was a member of the band, chorus, orchestra, marching band, jazz band, woodwind ensemble, ‘cello chamber ensemble, Odessey which is a select choir, and the TRI-M Music Honor Society. She was also involved in the high school musical as well as a vocalist singing the National Anthem at various sports events. In addition to her high school musical endeavors, Faith has been a member of the Lebanon Valley Honors Orchestra, Harrisburg Youth Symphony, Dauphin County Orchestra, and York County Honors Choir as well as teaching private ‘cello lessons.
The recipient of the PMEA D7 Orchestra Scholarship for 2014 is Taylor Lam. This student is a graduate of Hempfield High School. As a musician, Taylor was a member of concert band, symphonic band, marching band, full orchestra, pit orchestra, Hempfield singers, and chamber singers. This student is well-rounded and excels both musically and academically as a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Honor Society Superior Honor Roll in addition to being principal flute in the band and orchestra. In regard to PMEA festivals, Taylor has been a member of PMEA D7 Band for 3 years, Region V Band for 2 years, District 7 Orchestra for 3 years, Region Orchestra for 2 years, All-State Orchestra for 2 years, District 7 Chorus, and Region V Chorus. Outside of school, she has been a member of the Allegretto Chamber Orchestra and County Band and Orchestra.
Zachary Prowse is a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School and the recipient of the 2014 PMEA D7 Jazz Scholarship. This young man participated in PMEA D7 District Band for 2 years, PMEA District 7 Jazz Band for 1 year, and PMEA All-State Jazz Band. While in high school, he was a member of the concert band, marching band, and jazz band for four years in addition to the musical for 1 year and the pit orchestra for the musical for 1 year. He has been a member of the All-Star Invitational March Band-Performance at 2014 Orange Bowl, Harrisburg Youth Symphony Orchestra for 1 year, Unitarian Universalists of Cumberland Valley Mardi Gras Band, and D.C.M.E.A. County Band for three years. Zachary was awarded the Esprit De Corp Award from the National, State, Cavalcade of Bands Champions. He is a member of the National Honor Society, vice-president of the drama club, and president of the ski club
The recipient of the PMEA D7 Band Scholarship for 2014 is Jacob Bernat. He is a graduate of Eastern Lebanon County (ELCO) HIgh School. In his senior year, he was a member of the tenor saxophone section for the PMEA D7 District Band, PMEA Region V Band, and PMEA All-State Band in addition to County Band. During his high school tenure, he was a member of the marching band, jazz band, lab band, pep band, concert band, TRI-M, chorus, concert choir, barbershop quartet, and ELCO ROCS. This instrumentalist served as drum major, TRI-M President, and has organized a fundraising benefit concert in addition to being a member of the Spanish Honor Society. He was honored as the Myerstown-ELCO Rotary Student of the Month and the ELCO District Student of the Month
Riviera Sperduto is a graduate of the Milton Hershey High School and the PMEA D7 General Music Scholarship. This vocalist has been a member of the PMEA D7 District Chorus for 3 years and PMEA Region V Chorus for 3 years in addition to DCMEA County Chorus for 4 years. At his alma mater, he was a member of the Varsity Choir, New Horizons, concert band, marching band, guitar ensemble, praise band, and indoor drum line as well as the high school musical for 4 years. As an instrumentalist, he played French horn in the DCMEA County Band and Lebanon Valley College Honors Band for 4 years. Riviera has excelled musically as well as academically and was on the distinguished honor roll.
