All students auditioning on harp should follow the requirements as listed on the PMEA website, (http://www.pmea.net/2013-pmea-all-state-jazz-ensemble-harp-audition-information/ and on the D7 website in our newsletter.) All students (grades 9 through 12) in District 7 auditioning on the harp should also prepare a DVD-R to be submitted to the District President by Sunday, November 9th. All students in grades 10-12 from District 7 auditioning on the harp should also complete the process as listed on the PMEA website for submitting their audition material via the Acceptd program. The harp students will be judged by a committee or panel of judges as is done with all band and orchestral instruments for the District Orchestra. The harp students in grades 10-12 will be also judged by a separate panel through the ACCEPTD system for the PMEA Region Orchestra and All-State Orchestra.

A. Students are eligible to audition and participate in District 7 Chorus Festival who are presently in grades 10-12; in District Orchestra and District Jazz who are presently in grades 9-12; and in District Band who are presently in grades 7-12.
B. Only students in grades 10-12 are eligible for Region State festivals.
C. Students must be in ‘good standing’ in their school’s band, orchestra, chorus, or jazz ensemble to be eligible for the respective festival. Exceptions may be granted only if the school does not have provisions for said ensemble participation.
D. Students must be able to attend the entire Festival from registration through the final concert. Exceptions may be made for illness providing the student missed no more that four (4) hours of rehearsal time. Exceptions will be handled according to PMEA guidelines.
E. Students should not apply to auditions for a District Festival if, for any reason, including religious activity, they plan to miss a part of the festival. A student must participate in the complete festival program commencing with registration and concluding with the final concert, except in the case of illness that must be verified in writing by a physician within 5 days of the festival. Students must rehearse and perform all musical compositions selected for the concert.
F. Students must earn membership in a District 7 Festival through a “selective” audition.
G. Home schooled, Cyberschooled and Cyber Charterschooled students will be eligible to participate in PMEA festivals if they are sponsored by their local school district and the appropriate PMEA memberdirector and if they are members, in good standing, of the local school district’s respective ensemble(s) relative to the festival. (PMEA Policy, January 8, 2011)
- Movement I – measure 8 – the first F in that measure should be an F# (like the last eighth note in that measure)
- Movement II – measure 13 – the second beat should read “ecbc,” not “edbc.” (should be the same as the second beat in measure 14).
